Meet the NC Drainage Team

The NC Drainage team is more than just a group of employees, we’re a family. Many of us have known one another for a very long time and enjoy spending time together with our families outside of work. That kind of camaraderie and the spirit of teamwork it creates is what we think sets us apart. Most of all, we count on each other to deliver the highest level of work for our customers. As a licensed General Contractor, we take pride in our shared accomplishments and hope that spirit of cooperation is reflected in the work we do for you.

JASON CROWE - Owner and Founder

Jason is the owner and co-founder of NC Drainage. As a lifelong resident of the North Carolina piedmont and with over 20 years of experience digging, trenching, and excavating, Jason has deep and time-tested knowledge of local ground and soil conditions.

Jason graduated from Elon University in 2003 where he met his wife, Stephanie. Today, the Crowe family - which now includes four kids - lives in Hillsborough.

In Jason’s spare time, he enjoys fishing with his kids, playing golf, and spending time with friends…many of whom he’s fortunate to also call NC Drainage co-workers.

Ryan Hodges

Superintendent

Ryan is a Greensboro resident and a North Carolina native with a degree in electronics but zero interest in working at a desk. To that end, he worked as a golf course superintendent before joining NC Drainage. Now, he spends his days outside, ensuring that our crews deliver the highest level of quality for our customers.

Golf is still a love for Ryan, as well as spending time with family, friends, and his dog, Wyatt. Depending on the time of year, you’ll notice a change in the length of his beard, but underneath it you’ll find one of the nicest guys around who truly cares about making sure the customer is happy.

Cameron Thomas

Crew Leader

Cameron heads one of our field crews and has been around machinery, landscaping, and outdoor job sites for the better part of his adult life. He holds a degree in turfgrass management and technologies.

If working hard all day long leading a field crew for NC Drainage wasn’t enough to fill up his plate, Cameron and his wife have four children at home (three of whom are triplets), which makes family time very important - and often quite hectic - for the Thomases.

Zach Albright

Crew Leader

Zach’s experience that has qualified him as an NC Drainage Crew leader comes from a lifetime spent around tractors and heavy machinery. He takes great pride in high quality, careful, and safe work day in and day out.

Zach is a family man with a wife and two boys at home. He is an avid hunter, fisherman, and NFL football fan. The Albright homestead is in Hurdle Mills, NC, which is also where he was born and raised.

Adam LyonCustomer Relations ManagerAdam is a North Carolina lifer; born in Elkin and raised in Burlington where he still lives today with his wife, Theresa, and their two children. He has more than two decades of customer relations experience and spends much of his free time fishing, playing golf, and woodworking.Adam was part of NC Drainage before there was an NC Drainage, working with Jason to help friends with muddy yards. Things are a little different today – and while you can still find him with a shovel now and then, he mostly advises our crews so customers get results that are exactly what they envision and expect.

With almost a decade of underground knowledge and machine operating experience there’s no job too large or complex when Kyle is around. Most of Kyle’s time outside of work is spent with his three favorite people: his wife, Katie, and his two young daughters. Free time usually gets focused on tinkering on various things around the shop to make them work better or go faster and watching racing.

Danika Waggoner

Office Manager

A Graham, NC native, Danika is one half of the Waggoner contingent at NC Drainage (her twin brother Justin works here too). She’s a fan of big dogs, coffee, playing golf, and has a tough time deciding whether she prefers the beach or the lake.

You might think Danika is a bit on the young side to be an obsessed fan of ‘90s television, but challenge her to a “Friends” trivia contest and see what happens.

Jared Hopkins

Sales & Business Development

Born and raised on a Mebane tobacco farm, Jared has always loved the outdoors. Naturally, he chose to pursue a degree in accounting and spent his early career in management, sales, and the golf industry. Ultimately, the pull of the fresh air proved too great and he decided he wanted to spend more time out and about.

Today, Jared lives on his family farm with his wife and two boys and loves the fact that he gets to spend his work time and his free time outside. He takes great pride in working at a company that works with its customers to ensure they can enjoy their yards to the fullest extent possible.

David LyonCrew LeaderDavid came to NC Drainage with 15 years of experience as a dirt bike mechanic, so you could say that he and the NC mud have been in a long-term relationship that has continued with his new role as a crew leader. Now he takes great pride in seeing the transformation of a customer project from start to completion. He is a true outdoorsman, but when he’s not on a boat or in a tree stand, you’ll find him spending time with his family at their home in Graham.

Hannah Jones

Office Manager

Hannah was born and raised in Burlington, NC and was the lone girl fending for herself against three brothers growing up. She must have done all right, because now she works alongside two of them at NC Drainage.

She has over a decade of customer service experience and spends as much of her spare time as possible either traveling or down at the beach with her husband.

Taft Franklin

Field Estimator

A native of Mebane where he grew up fishing, raising rabbits, and carving small wooden statues, Taft always knew he wanted to work outdoors. He graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in turfgrass management, which led him to being a golf course superintendent for several years, fighting with the fickle NC weather to grow perfect grass.

Now that Taft is NC Drainage material, he’s only at the golf course for fun and at a much more reasonable hour of the day. His wife and two kids are grateful for this since they actually get to see him in the mornings now, at least when he’s not whittling wood.

Alberto Vergara

Crew Leader

Alberto was raised in North Carolina and has always had a passion for the outdoors. When he’s not in the field working hard for NC Drainage customers, there’s a high likelihood that you might find him out playing soccer with friends and family.

He is the proud father of two daughters, Stephanie and Nicole, and his favorite way to spend his free time is a long walk on the beach with his wife, Silvia.

Stephanie CroweFinance DirectorStephanie graduated Magna Cum Laude from Elon University in 2003 and received her MBA from Elon in 2009. She enjoys supporting her husband, who happens to be the founder of NC Drainage, with the finance side of their business. In addition to raising their four small (but rapidly growing) children, she is an active volunteer and member of their school’s PTGO. In her free time, you can find her crafting, cooking, or if the stars have aligned in the best possible way, on the golf course.

NC Drainage was born from one simple question: "How can I spend more time outside?

With over 20 years of experience digging in the North Carolina ground, and with more clay-stained boots in our closets than we can count, our professional drainage consultants and drainage installation crews know exactly what it takes to transform your yard from a muddy mess into a thriving outdoor space that you, your family, and your friends will appreciate.

NC Drainage is locally owned and operated and offers flexible scheduling for drainage quotes as well as completion of your drainage system installation projects. Whether the questions you have are basic like “What is a french drain?” or “How much does a french drain cost?” or something more complex than that, we’re here to collaborate with you as we create a plan.

Our Equipment

Not everyone cares how we do what we do, but if you're someone who's into this stuff, here are some of the tools you may see on site:

0343-TRENCHER - Vermeer RT200 - Wheels.JPG

VERMEER RT200 Trencher

The RT200 enables quick and clean trench digging for projects of many sizes. With its ability to adjust to a variety of depths and soil types,  clean up is easy because it only does what's necessary to get the job done.

yanmarvio17.jpg

YANMAR VIO17 Excavator

For bigger projects, the Vio17 can handle homeowner-grade needs, and even commercial requirements. If your needs go deeper than small trenches and pipes, expect to see the Vio17, or its big brothers: the Yanmar Vio20 and Vio25.

bobcat.jpg

BOBCAT T450 TRACK LOADER

Sometimes there's enough stuff to move that you need to bring in the heavy machinery, capable of moving large quantities of clay, rock, compost, topsoil, or whatever else you need. This Bobcat handles it all.

old fashioned SHOVEL

Technology is great, but there is no  substitute for good old fashioned elbow grease. Heavy machinery can do incredible things, but the care we put into each job with our bare hands is what sets us apart.

The Cities We Serve

We offer free consultations for any address within our primary service area consisting of the Triangle and Triad regions of North Carolina. . We do offer service to other locations, schedule permitting, but in order to allow us to focus on the local market and keep costs low, more distant locations require either remote consultations or a modest consultation fee. Feel free to ask!
